Future
Forging ever closer ties to the communities we source from. Buying from a group of farmers year after year ensures sustainable growth, the ability to plan as with any business. We serendipitously forged two direct trade links with no idea what we were doing, but met some amazing people. Increasing our direct trade relationships is definitely on our to-do list for 2024!

From crop to cup
Coffee has been entwined with both the economic and cultural histories of many countries, dating back to the 6th Century in The Highlands of Ethiopia. 125 million people depend on coffee production throughout the world. All the coffee we source is from small farmers who grow on their own land. They sell through cooperatives, many employed by the washing stations they sell to. These growers are hugely innovative in terms of growing, many in ecologically sensitive areas supporting the environment of endangered species. Many in politically unstable countries, most embracing women growers in patriarchal societies.
